Check, check, check, check...That's all my life is. There's nothing ordinary about me. I'm "special." I know this because I'm reminded of it every stinking day. I can kick a Daemon's ass with both hands tied behind my back. I can run up a mountain without breaking a sweat. Know what I can't do? Get guys to notice me, or hang out with friends like normal people do. I can't just be ordinary because I have an Arch Angel for a mentor who is always breathing down my neck, and a family of angelic Guides and Protectors who scrutinize every little thing I do. Just for a day I want a life where I'm no longer some anomaly, where I don't have to feel like a lab rat.
And then I met Emrys. Okay, so my mentor and family hate him, but probably for good reason. After-all, he is a Soul Trader, and they aren't the most trust worthy beings. But, he is sooo hot with his green eyes, leather jacket and the sexiest tattoo you've ever seen running down his back. And-he doesn't treat me like a project.
I've got myself in quite a little quandary here. Choosing between my responsibilities and the Trader that holds my heart is something I didn't sign up for. Torn between two different worlds, I must now decide who to trust and who to walk away from. What's a girl to do? See what I mean? I am an anomaly. I am Jordyn.

My Thoughts:
I didn't really know what to expect with this novel. All I knew is that it sounded awesome and that I had been wanting to read something by Tiffany King for quite some time! "Jordyn" is a spin off from The Saving Angels series, which I haven't read yet. But after diving into "Jordyn" it won't be long before I do.
This was a book that immediately pulled you into the action. Within the first chapter I was already hooked. King's imagery of the Daemons within the first couple of pages had me wanting to gag a little bit and if you know me you know that's a good thing. When something is evil you need to feel it and the bad creators in this novel will curl your toes. In all different sorts of ways.
The characters are extremely well developed. They all have strong personalities and their interactions are very well played out, though at times they might seem a little bit rushed. And the world which King builds is one of infinite possibilities. She takes you to quite a few locations and you feel as if you are there with all of the characters. It's her vivid, yet simple imagery that pulls you in.
And Jordyn and Emrys! I kinda love these two. They are such an odd pair! They both don't really have a place in the world and they are trying to find it. They have one of those instant connections, that I normally can't stand. But I think there is more to theirs than the author is letting on at the moment. So, I'm just gonna hold my breath and wait to learn more about these two. But it was a joy to watch them interact! I also enjoyed Mark, Krista and Lynn and their relationships with Jordyn. But I have to admit that my favorite secondary character was Haniel. I want to know more about him.
And speaking of Jordyn (well I was a bit ago) she was awesome! I enjoyed her extreme levels of snark and how totally kick ass she was. She wasn't just some sad little lost girl like she could have been. She was just genuinely cool and also a total hand full. She is above all the other reasons I mentioned the reason why I liked this book so much.
Anyways I think I need to get my hands on the next book pronto. I want to find out what happens after that cliff hanger ending that King gave us.
