Summary:

My Thoughts:
Ok, I just have to get this
out of the way first! I really really liked Kelly Oram's writing style.
That's why I'm bummed that I could only give this book a 3 star
rating! "Serial Hottie" started off strong, with great characters and
an even better guessing game. It had that bit of "what's gonna happen
next" that kept you glued to the book and yet I just couldn't commit to
the whole story. I honestly wish that wasn't the case, but it is.
The concept of the book is priceless. Girl who doesn't fully realize she is one, with a slew of guy friends, falls for the hot new neighbor boy and then thinks he's serial killer. I can get on board with that, but it was more the actual situations between Ellie and Seth that irritated me. For awhile I was willing to jump on the train of the crazy things that were happening in the book, but after awhile I just couldn't believe it anymore. Then I tried to look at it as a super campy novel and by the end I just didn't get why those two were even attracted to each other. I think if the relationship would have been even a little more realistic, I would have given this book a much higher rating.
Cause guys, Kelly Oram totally threw me for a loop as she made you try to find the serial killer who is hunting down red heads, and I couldn't be more pleased with that! I won't tell you much more about it because if you read the novel I don't want to be the one to spoil it for you, but the suspense was completely well crafted and I couldn't get enough of it. It almost had the feeling of an old 90s slasher/teen horror flick and I like those kind of things.
And even though I had a hard time believe Ellie and Seth's relationship, her relationships with the other males in the book were spot and laugh out loud funny. And the sister thing with Ellie and Angela was so much fun to watch and was really genuine and real.
So, even though I couldn't entirely jump on board the "Serial Hottie" train, the parts that I liked, no loved, still stand out to me and make me really enjoy Kelly Oram's writing! I know that this won't be the last book of hers that I read.
