Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly linkup hosted by The Broke And The Bookish!
I love this weeks TTT theme! I'm a very visual person, so I have to admit that a good book cover will pull me in before the words might. Now I'm not always a person to judge a book by it's cover, most of my favorite books don't necessarily have an awesome cover, but some do. And guess what, today you all get to load your eyes full of book eye candy! I can't wait to see what other people pick, but first here are my picks!
"Splintered" by A.G. Howard
This book has one of my most favorite covers ever! There are just so many little details that every time I look at it, I see something new! Plus, it captured the novel perfectly!
"Coraline" by Neil Gaiman
I love the simplisticness of this cover. It's dark and beautiful and haunting, just like this children's book. I also love a middle grade book that says "one of the most frightening books ever written". My kids are going to love me!
"Sanctum" by Sarah Fine
This cover is almost as badass as this book is! The fire, the city and the girl all scream what this book is about! It's great marketing, if you ask me!
"How My Summer Went Up In Flames" by Jennifer Salvato Doktorski
I love that the girl on the cover is holding a gas can. I mean it's perfect! Almost as perfect as I thought this book was!
"The Ward" by Jordana Frankel
This cover captures what New York City is described as in this book. Plus, my favorite part about this cover is that there is a girl in the "A"!
"Just One Day" by Gayle Forman
The reflection on the glass pulls me right in to this cover. It gives you that feeling of Paris in one little picture, and who isn't going to love that?
"Going Bovine" by Libba Bray
Though this certainly isn't the prettiest cover of a Libba Bray book I love this one so much. Possibly because it features Balder getting carried around by a cow. I mean, those of you who have read this one know just what I'm saying!
"Vixen" by Jillan Larkin
The link will take you to the American version, but I got my hands on the UK paperback version over in Ireland and I love it! I think that it's my love of The White Stripes that has always made me love the color scheme of red, white and black.
"Neverwhere" by Neil Gaiman
This is one of my favorite books ever! And the cover isn't overboard but there are little things that hint at the craziness that happens within the pages of this book. Plus, my love of London is captured so perfectly with that shot of Big Ben!
"Cinder" by Marissa Meyer
It reminds me of princesses and Cinderella without throwing it in my face. I guess it's just like the book. The red shoe is striking, but what I really love is the metal parts that you can see through the transparent skin!
Well there's my list! What's on yours? I wanna know. Leave your link below or tell me in the comments!
