[Top Ten Tuesday: Books I No Longer Have An Interest In Reading]

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly linkup hosted by The Broke And The Bookish!

It happens, there are those books that you're so excited for to begin with and then, with time, you wants change or fade. It's a sad thing, but because there are so many awesome books out in the world, you just have to move on...

"After the End" by Amy Plum: It sounded good at first, but then the reviews came in and it sounded like something that I wouldn't love, so I didn't read it. I do have it though, so that might change at some point...

"All Our Pretty Songs" by Sarah McCarry: I thought this one sounded good and I saw it in store the other day and read the summary again. Let's just say I didn't leave with it in my hands...

"Delirium" by Lauren Oliver: I admit it, I watched the dropped pilot episode of the TV show on Hulu and almost barfed at the insta-love. Needless to say, I don't think I'll be reading this one any time soon...

"Icons" by Margaret Stohl: Okay, I really do like the Dangerous Creators books, so when I heard the ladies were stepping out on their own I got excited. I actually started this one, but I just couldn't finish it. I think they're better as a duo...

"Paper Towns" by John Green: I loved The Fault in Our Stars so much, but I just finished Looking for Alaska and couldn't stand it. I'm starting to wonder if I'm a John Green fan, or if I just really liked TFiOS?

"The Liar Society" by Lisa and Laura Roecker: I read one of their other books, "This is W.A.R." and I didn't love it, so I've been avoiding picking this one up off my shelves.

"The Program" by Suzanne Young: This one seemed interesting, but I just never want to pick it up when it's an option. I always find something I want to read more...

"Truth or Dare" by Jacqueline Green: Like some of the others on this list, I just keep avoiding it. It's really that simple...

"Unbreakable" by Kami Garcia: It's kind of the same story as with "Icons". Only I've also heard that this is pretty much a rip off of Supernatural and since that's one of my favorite shows (only through season 5 though) I decided it was a no for me...

"The Fall" by Bethany Griffin: Okay, so I might actually read this one at some point, because it does sound pretty cool...

Well there's my list!  What's on yours?  I wanna know.  Leave your link below or tell me in the comments!

I really liked Paper Towns - more than TFIOS. John Green does write some great quirky and off beat characters.
I liked Delirium but I didn't see the pilot episode. From what I remember of the book it wasn't uncomfortably instalove but yeah.. like with these kinds of books it did move a little quickly.

I have read Unbreakable but didn't love it. It did have a distinct Supernatural vibe but lacked the banter/relationships/everything else that I loved. I think that maybe with some time this book could get better but it's not a series I'd continue with at this stage. :)

I'm seeing Delirium on a lot of lists today. Mine too. Insta-love is a definite no-no and the writing is too flowery for me.

I've only read DELIRIUM, and it wasn't too bad (I think I gave each book in the series three stars). But the finale to the finale is not good. Thanks for stopping by!

I've only read Delirium on this list, and I wouldn't read it either. I wanted to read Truth or Dare, but I just never got around to it. I might one day, but probably not anytime soon.

I know what you mean about John Green books. I read Paper Towns and did rather like it, though I preferred TFIOS. I will say however that many people tell me that Looking For Alaska is identical to Paper Towns. AKA, if you didn't like one, you probably won't enjoy the other.

On the books that I've read... Do not bother with Truth or Dare or Unbreakable. I would almost say to avoid Delirium too. The first book is good but it's downhill from there...As for the Program, the first book was pretty good but not so good that I'm motivated to pick up the sequel anytime soon.

I agree Nicole, and I would actually say After the End... pass on that one too!
