[Top Ten Tuesday: Authors In My Reading Journey]

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly linkup hosted by The Broke And The Bookish!

I know that this isn't what the girls over at The Broke and The Bookish meant when they picked "Authors in My Reading Journey", but it's no secret that I travel a lot.  I decided that I'm going to give you a list of the 10 authors who's books I read for the first time while I was traveling.  I might even tell you where I was when I read them.  So sit back and get ready.

Authors Who's Books I Read While Traveling:

"The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" by Ann Brashares:  I can't remember where I was going when I picked this one up, but I do know that I bought it at the airport and that I fell in love with this series because of that decision!

"Gone with the Wind" by Margaret Mitchell:  I started this one on a two week road trip through Oregon and Washington State.  I didn't finish it on the trip, but it became a favorite of mine.

"Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging" by Louise Rennison:  I read this one when I was 20 and on my first plane to London!  It felt appropriate and made me laugh.

"If I Stay" by Gayle Forman:  I cried my eyes out on planes and trains as I covered the first part of my 7 weeks of European adventures two years ago.  I loved it!.  I also read "Where She Went."  Gayle is now one of my favorite contemporary authors.

"Princess of the Midnight Ball" by Jessica Day George:  After I was done with Forman's books I needed more and so I turned to my Amazon app on my phone and read this one in two days in a little house in Belfast.

"The Nine Lives of Chloe King" by Liz Braswell:  I finished this one while I was still on the Europe trip.  I'm not sure where I was, but I do remember not loving this one.  You can't win them all.

"Vixen" by Jillian Larkin:  I snagged this one for the plane ride home and almost finished it by the time the flight ended.  I have both of her other books, cause I liked this one so much, but I haven't read them yet.

"Cinder" by Marissa Meyer:  I started this one on a road trip to LA.  Of course, I fell in love with the book and the series!

"Just One Day" by Gayle Forman:  Yes, Forman is on this list again!  I read this one while I was in Paris last year.  It was cool to read about the place I was in, while being there.

"Code Name Verity" by Elizabeth Wein:  I finished this one in a beach house the day before one of my childhood best friend's weddings.  I don't know if that was the greatest idea, since it made me bawl my eyes out with the most epic/tragic friendship ever!

Well there's my list!  What's on yours?  I wanna know.  Leave your link below or tell me in the comments!

I love Cinder and Just One Day, unfortunately I feel great shame for the fact that I still have not read If I Stay, great shame! =)

Great list!
And I just got a massive smile on my face when I read your sidebar because Leslie Knope happens to be my hero too :)

This is a great list. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants helped me get into YA a lot more.

I LOVE this so much. I too travel a lot and have enjoyed many books in many different places. I love that you included what you read when and where you read it! So great!
