[Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Was "Forced" To Read]

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly linkup hosted by The Broke And The Bookish!

It takes a lot to get me to trust someone's book advice.  I'm pretty picky when it comes to what I read, even if it doesn't seem like it.  I'll try anything once, well almost anything, and I've come to learn that there are some people out there who just get my reading likes, and some people who have just gotten really lucky.  It was fun to come up with a list of books that I've loved that I've been forced to read and shockingly, it was easy for me to pick ten.  So, you wanna know what books got on the list?  Here they are!

Books That I'm Glad I Was Force Fed!

"Angus, Thongs and Full Frontal Snogging" by Louise Rennison and "Going Bovine" by Libba Bray:  These get pushed together cause the same person suggested them.  My friend Carly and I have the same taste when it comes to YA fiction and equally snarky personalities.  Needless to say I laughed until I cried with both of these titles!  This also means I should really listen to her and read The Book Thief and A Fault in Their Stars...

"Gorgeous" by Paul Rudnick:  Gillian over at Writer of Wrongs told me that I had to read this one and I'm so glad that I listened!  Once again I laughed my head off with this one and now fully trust her book recommendations, cause obviously the weird doesn't freak her out!

"Beauty" by Robin McKinley:  In high school I had this friend who kept telling me that I had to read McKinley's books and that I had to start with Beauty.  She wouldn't stop talking about and so finally I got myself a copy and then proceeded to go on a Robin McKinley reading binge.  Apparently my friend knew what she was talking about...

"Dragonflight" by Anne McCaffery:  Once again this was a high school book.  I was with a group of friends at a B&N and one of them told me that I needed to read this, I ended up reading the first 5 chapters in store and buying it.  I finished the series and all the Acornia books (she was an alien girl who was part unicorn!)

"Redeeming Love" by Francine Rivers:  I think my mom told me to read this one.  It's pretty darn brilliant and easily turned Francine Rivers into my favorite Christian author.

"Jane Eyre" by Charlotte Bronte:  I can't remember who told me to read this one, but I want to thank them now!  This is one of my favorite classic gothic books.  It's so sweet and so creepy at the same time, which is always a winning combo in my opinion!

"Girl, Interrupted" by Susanna Kaysen, "The Outsiders" by S.E. Hinton and "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" by Stephen Chbosky:  Once again I'm pairing these all together cause I read them all cause of the same thing.  I was a part of an online booksclub that has since disbanded but these were the three books I would have never read on my own that I ended up falling in love with.

Well there's my list!  What's on yours?  I wanna know.  Leave your link below or tell me in the comments!
