[Waiting On Wednesday: Asylum]

Waiting On Wednesday happens every week on Wednesdays (hence the name) and is hosted by Breaking The Spine.  It's were people talk about the books they want to read about that aren't out yet.

My pick this week is...

"Asylum"
Author: Madeleine Roux
Release Date: August 20th, 2013

--------------------------------------------------------------
Summary:

Asylum is a thrilling and creepy photo-novel perfect for fans of the New York Times bestseller Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children.

For sixteen-year-old Dan Crawford, New Hampshire College Prep is more than a summer program—it's a lifeline. An outcast at his high school, Dan is excited to finally make some friends in his last summer before college. But when he arrives at the program, Dan learns that his dorm for the summer used to be a sanatorium, more commonly known as an asylum. And not just any asylum—a last resort for the criminally insane.

As Dan and his new friends, Abby and Jordan, explore the hidden recesses of their creepy summer home, they soon discover it's no coincidence that the three of them ended up here. Because the asylum holds the key to a terrifying past. And there are some secrets that refuse to stay buried.

Featuring found photos of unsettling history and real abandoned asylums and filled with chilling mystery and page-turning suspense, Madeleine Roux's teen debut, Asylum, is a horror story that treads the line between genius and insanity.

I love Gothic horror novels and this one sounds like it's going to be a winner.  Also, I love that it features a male POV!  I love those when they are done correctly!  Plus, adding horrifying real life pictures always adds a really cool touch to a book that is supposed to be scary.  I'm hoping that this one freaks me out!

What are you waiting on this week?  I wanna know!

This sounds creepily awesome. I have a thing for abandoned places and asylums.

The photos lend an interesting feel to the book. I liked that part of Miss Peregrine's Home... An asylum is a good setting for this thriller type book too. I may have to give this one a try.

I have an e-arc of this on my Kindle and have kind of glanced through it. I love it when books have something extra to look at--like creepy photos. I haven't been able to get into it yet, but I'm definitely excited. Great pick!

Oh goodness this one would probably give me nightmares! I don't know if I can read it, I try to avoid most things horrifying. But if I wasn't afraid of everything my interest would most definitely be piqued!
