[Waiting On Wednesday: The Bone Season]

Waiting On Wednesday happens every week on Wednesdays (hence the name) and is hosted by Breaking The Spine.  It's were people talk about the books they want to read about that aren't out yet.

My pick this week is...

"The Bone Season"
Author: Samantha Shannon
Release Date: August 20th, 2013

It is the year 2059. Several major world cities are under the control of a security force called Scion. Paige Mahoney works in the criminal underworld of Scion London, part of a secret cell known as the Seven Seals. The work she does is unusual: scouting for information by breaking into others’ minds. Paige is a dreamwalker, a rare kind of clairvoyant, and in this world, the voyants commit treason simply by breathing.

But when Paige is captured and arrested, she encounters a power more sinister even than Scion. The voyant prison is a separate city—Oxford, erased from the map two centuries ago and now controlled by a powerful, otherworldly race. These creatures, the Rephaim, value the voyants highly—as soldiers in their army.

Paige is assigned to a Rephaite keeper, Warden, who will be in charge of her care and training. He is her master. Her natural enemy. But if she wants to regain her freedom, Paige will have to learn something of his mind and his own mysterious motives.

The Bone Season introduces a compelling heroine—a young woman learning to harness her powers in a world where everything has been taken from her. It also introduces an extraordinary young writer, with huge ambition and a teeming imagination. Samantha Shannon has created a bold new reality in this riveting debut.

Wow, this book sounds like it has some serious world building and that excites me!  Everyone sounds like they are total badasses and that's never a bad thing.  And spies are always awesome!  Seriously, I'm so excited for this one!

What are you waiting on this week?  I wanna know!

Bones dvd season 8 premiered on September 17, 2012 on the Fox Network. Bones maintained its previous time slot, airing on Mondays at 8:00 pm ET, and consists of 26 episodes. Three months have passed since Brennan went into hiding after being framed for murder by Christopher Pelant. The Jeffersonian team catch a break with the discovery of the body of Pelant's old guidance counselor and, with Brennan's help, they learn Pelant killed her and Brennan is cleared of the murder charge. Pelant is arrested, but when his entire history identifies him as "Bassam Alfayat", an Egyptian, he is taken back to Egypt by Egyptian officials.
