I love unique books! I live for unique books. Give me an strange narrative, or a quirky plot or a unique voice and I'm in book heaven. Sure sometimes all of these things backfire and I find the book where everything goes wrong, but these 10 books aren't like that. It was actually really hard to pick 10 and only 10, but I did it and here they are...
The Most Unique Books I've Ever Read!
"Code Name Verity" by Elizabeth Wein: The way this book is written is gripping. It's such an odd mixture of things and it gives us lots of details on how to fly planes. It also makes you bawl your eyes out when you least expect it, which is odd, cause you know it coming the whole time.
"The Ocean at the End of the Lane" by Neil Gaiman: The main character doesn't have a name and you don't even care while your reading it. It makes for some interesting conversation when you're trying to tell people about him.
"Sanctum" by Sarah Fine: Possibly one of the most interesting books that I've ever read that deals with suicide. Fine gives us a world that is heartbreaking and hopeful and she gives us the most kick ass heroine out there.
"In the Shadow of Blackbirds" by Cat Winters: Talk about a heavy book. You have war, you have the Spanish Flu and you have spiritualism. In the end it's Winter's atmospheric writing style that puts this one of the list.
"All the Truth That's in Me" by Julie Berry: This book is told in little, poetic chapters. It's also written from a mute girl to the boy she's in love with. It's an experience, that's for sure.
"Nameless" by Lili St. Crow: Talk about a weird and twisted retelling. This is Snow White like you've never seen her before and I enjoyed this one so so much. The writing is creepy and perfect!
"The Fault in Our Stars" by John Green: This book isn't your typical cancer book and I love it for that. It'll make you laugh just as much as it'll make you cry. Heck, it'll even make you laugh while it makes you cry and that's tough.
"Not a Drop to Drink" by Mindy McGinnis: Well, this is the end of the world novel that could actually happen and there is something really scary about that. I loved how tough and imperfect the main character is in this one. She's so likeable and unlikeable at the same time.
"Past Perfect" by Leila Sales: It's a rom/com that's set in a Historical Colonial Reenactment Village. Yes, you read that right. Best. Idea. Ever.
"Dangerous Girls" by Abigail Haas: Talk about the ulitmate mindf*ck book. If you're looking for something that'll make your skin crawl and shock the pants off of you, this book is it.
