[Top Ten Tuesday #7: Rewind: Books I Would Want On A Deserted Island]

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly linkup hosted by The Broke And The Bookish!

It's rewind week, which means that I got to go back and pick a TTT theme that I didn't get a chance to be a part of.  What's better than picking "books I would want on a deserted island"?  Oh, and can I just say that whoever came up with this theme is brilliant!  In true White Unicorn fashion we are putting a twist on things.  That means that we compiled a list of books that take place on islands and some of them are even deserted!  Anyway, here are the books.

The Books That Actually Take Place On A Deserted Island (or something kinda like that):

"Beauty Queens" by Libba Bray:  It is basically what it sounds like.  A whole plane full of teenage beauty contestants crashes on a random island.

"Lord Of The Flies" by William Golding:  I actually didn't like this book very much, but I think it would have some merit on a deserted island.  It might actually put the book into perspective for me and if not... fires need to be started.

"Lost"...oh wait, that's a TV show.  But it was written and created, so I guess it could count right?  Only how would I get the DVDs onto a deserted island?

"Girl At Sea" by Maureen Johnson:  So she's not stuck on an actually island but she and the other people on the boat are pretty much just out on a boat for most of the novel.

"The Swiss Family Robinson" by Johann David Wyss:  A classic that you can sink your teeth into!  It's full of adventure and it all takes place on an island.  One that you're stuck on with only your family.

"Anne of Green Gables" and all the other books by L.M. Montgomery:  Well, they all take place on an island, so they get to count.

"Island of the Blue Dolphins" by Scott O'Dell:  I'm taking you old school with this one.  Well I guess there are other books that are way older on this list, but lets keep that between us, okay?  I remember really liking this one when I was younger though.

"Tiger Lily" by Jodi Lynn Anderson:  To be honest, I haven't read this one yet, but I really want to!  And we all know that Neverland is comprised by a bunch of islands, so I would assume that this one would work.  I need to read this one!

Well, that's all that I can think of at the moment, but you get my drift.  Okay, I'm going to go now, before I make anymore bad deserted island puns...

Well there's my list!  What's on yours?  I wanna know.  Leave your link below or tell me in the comments!

I've been meaning to read both Beauty Queens and Tiger Lily for a while now. If I need some island in my life, those will be my go-tos :)

OH MY GOD I love your twist. Completely hilarious. Lord of the Flies is more like what NOT to do on a deserted island, but The Swiss Family Robinson would be fun. And ISLAND OF THE BLUE DOLPHINS! You just resurrected my whole childhood.

Oh dear I haven't read any of these. Tiger Lily is definitely on my "I better get to this soon" list. I can't imagine being stuck with only 10 books though for who knows how long. Hopefully it would be a short stay ;)
