But I already got Wuthering Heights and still am not sure what to read whether for outside reading or academic funsies over break. Thanks for your list of classics.Natalie Marrujohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15189361450716927400noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7805629774666347234.post-91953128979712481062014-07-04T05:32:12.838-07:002014-07-04T05:32:12.838-07:00The Phatom of the Opera is just one of my favorite...The Phatom of the Opera is just one of my favorite stories EVER <3Nicolehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18339884453331050427noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7805629774666347234.post-52051162554397637512014-07-01T17:15:26.345-07:002014-07-01T17:15:26.345-07:00I actually started THE SCARLET LETTER once and was...I actually started THE SCARLET LETTER once and was liking it, but never finished. It was actually my favorite out of all the books I read last year.

The main characters in Wuthering Heights are not one bit likeable, but that doesn't mean it is a bad book, quite the contrary, it makes for a really interesting read.Lnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7805629774666347234.post-78919800467460503592014-07-01T12:47:36.658-07:002014-07-01T12:47:36.658-07:00Amazing list! I've heard that Rebecca is amazing and I had no idea until today that The Phantom of the Opera was a book. Seriously, I love the story so definitely checking that one out now! I've heard great stuff about I Capture the Castle too and it's been on my wishlist for a while now. After reading The Great Gatsby and loving it I'm really interested to read more Fitzgerald. Great list!

Becca @ Lost in Thought
My TTTbeccabookloverhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12658015894606772164noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7805629774666347234.post-47590504414353625272014-07-01T10:43:38.415-07:002014-07-01T10:43:38.415-07:00I really enjoyed both "Phantom of the Opera&q...I really enjoyed both "Phantom of the Opera" and "Wuthering Heights". I found Wuthering Heights much more enjoyable if you thought of it as a soap opera. As in, the characters are over the top caricatures. I had to read "The Scarlet Letter" in 10th grade and I couldn't stand it.

Here are a few classics I recommend:
The Great Gatsby by F. If you've only seen the movie, you're definitely missing a large part of the story.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7805629774666347234.post-69174522787775145922014-07-01T05:55:17.036-07:002014-07-01T05:55:17.036-07:00Rebecca is SO stinking good, definitely one of my ...Rebecca is SO stinking good, definitely one of my all-time faves. Wuthering Heights is interesting - for me, it was the first time I read a novel with (in my opinion) unlikable lead characters, so I was a bit lost looking for someone to root for. But it taught me that some stories are more about observing rather than relating. I liked it, but more than anything I remember it as a bit of a turning point for me as a reader. If that makes sense? I haven't read Anne yet so The Tenant of Wildfell Hall is on my to-read list, too - as are I Capture the Castle and Phantom of the Opera, actually. And Lolita! I've heard so many things about that book, I'm crazy curious.

Oh, and I think Mansfield is really underrated, it's maybe less grandly romantic but it has some of my favorite writing from Jane. :) Happy birthda week!!!Casee Mariehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03999612353056722044noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7805629774666347234.post-1308464337287540112014-07-01T04:40:56.896-07:002014-07-01T04:40:56.896-07:00I really liked Capture the Castle…definitely a goo...I really liked Capture the Castle…definitely a good read.
